5 “Get IT Done” Workouts For The July Reign Traveler

For many of us, the summer usually means vacations, traveling, and finding creative ways to get your fitness in.

So…

Here are 5 workouts that are travel friendly for our Reign Fam members spread out across the globe right now!

And for our Reign work travel warriors out there… Keep working hard, focusing on your health and fitness, and remember…

We are only one text, call, message, and post away!

 

The following workouts will require no equipment. 

Workout 1

“That’s Nasty” 

400m Run

21 Squats

21 Burpees

21 Situps

400m Run

15 Squats

15 Burpees

15 Situps

Workout 2

“Snake Eyes”

EMOM x 10 minutes

Directions: Perform the exercises in the order listed for the set number of reps at the top of each minute. Use the remaining time as rest and recovery, start your next round at the top of the next minute and continue for 10 minutes. In the case that you can’t finish all the exercises in the minute, stop and start the exercises over from the first movement at the top of the next minute.

5 Pushups

15 Squats

Ab Finisher: 

20 seconds of work / 10 seconds break / 3 Rounds

Situps

Toe Touches

Side Plank Left

Side Plank Right

 

Workout 3

“Beauty In Simplicity”

Directions: Complete the reps listed in the rep range for the exercises listed. Start with 27 reps of squats, burpees, and situps, then 25 reps of squats, burpees, situps, and then 21 and so on.

“The following workouts will require a little bit of equipment.”

Workout 4 

“No Time, No Problem”

*This workout will require a pair of dumbbells.

Directions: At the top of the minute, perform the exercise listed for the time range for the set number of reps listed. Find a rep range for the exercises that gives you 15-20 seconds of break every round. At the top of the next minute, start again. When you finish your exercise for the time range – start on the next exercise series for the next time range.

EMOM

1-5 min | 5 DB Thruster  + 5-10 Burpees

6-10 min | 5 Pushups + 15 Squats

11-15 min | Situps x 15-25 reps

 

Workout 5

“The Foundation”

Directions: Complete the exercises for the set number of reps in the order listed for 5 rounds. Take your time warming up your deadlift and find a weight that you can comfortably do for 5 reps (use the prescribed weight as a reference).

5 rounds for time

Barbell Deadlifts x 5 reps (225/155) *scale weight as needed

OTB Burpees x 10

Situps x 15

First Reign Committed Club Class of June 2017 | 5 Tips To Help You Be More Consistent

We are super excited that Committed Club in June 2017 was not only very successful but incredible to watch.

Remember that…

“Being a part of the committed club is an honor and a testament to fitness gains. The more you’re at Reign, investing in yourself and doing things like crushing EMOMS/drilling technique and form, the closer you are to your goals.”

To be a part of the committed club, you must check in and train at Reign, 20 times or more in one month.

And don’t forget that committed club isn’t just about getting better in the gym or doing doubles and triples so that you can get into the club…

It’s about so much more!

It’s about keeping you accountable to spend that 50 minutes to an hour each day in the gym so that the other 23 hours in your life, outside of the gym, can benefit from a healthier and fitter you!

And whether it’s keeping up with your kids, being able to enjoy the active things you like to do in the summer, or even if it’s about just looking better in clothes (or less clothes/like a swimsuit)…

Didn’t make Committed Club this month? No Worries

Here are 5 tips to help you be consistent and find more ways to get in the gym and keep yourself accountable.

Tip #1 Look into other programs that we offer like Barbell Classes that will allow for more options and opportunities to get into the gym!

Tip #2 Plan, Schedule, Plan, Schedule.

Just by taking the time to schedule and game plan your training week can help you prioritize gym time, rather than prioritizing your schedule. If it’s important to you, make time for it and watch how it can influence every other aspect of your life.

Tip #3 Adjust your mindset from “Have to” to “Want to”!

So instead of saying, “You have to make it to 20 or more classes a month, say “I want to make it to 20 or more classes a month!” It really is incredible how much this little change can do for you attitude, your performance in the gym, and overall morale.

Tip #4 No Complaining Rule.

Deciding and committing to making it to the gym 20+ times a month is not easy! Just ask anyone who made the committed club in June. So you have to expect that it’s going to be challenging.

Complaining isn’t going to help you make the 20+ classes a month any easier, in fact it’s going to discourage you and bring negative vibes and I’m not down with that, neither should you be.

Ditch the complaining and find ways to stay positive.

Tip #5 Find more ways to apply your fitness outside of the gym or identify all the ways that your life benefits from just 1 hour in the gym each day.

Creating a list can help you identify how important your fitness grind is and chances are… it’s not just benefiting you! It’s benefiting everyone around you, your boss, your family, your kids, your significant other, etc.

Also, seeing gains in the gym is great but what’s even better is getting a chance to see your hard work pay off in the things you like to do including… Yard work, hiking, running, cycling, rafting, hanging out with the family at the park, washing the cars, etc.

The Reign Committed Club | June 2017

The Committed Club is something really special to us and we’re truly excited that we get to introduce it next month in June.

We decided to not only launch a Committed Club for Reign but to instill what it preaches into our gym’s culture. It’s a challenge for consistency and a way to acknowledge hard work put in every month.

Being a part of the committed club is an honor and a testament to fitness gains. The more you’re at Reign, investing in yourself and doing things like crushing EMOMS/drilling technique and form, the closer you are to your goals.

To be a part of the committed club, you must check in and train at Reign, 20 times or more in one month.

At the end of June, we will announce our very first ever honorary group to enter into the Committed Club along with the number of times they trained at Reign next to their name. And at the end of every Month, we will announce another group entering into the Committed Club (for that month) and everyone who repeated along with the number of classes they trained at Reign for that month.

In April 2017: Elmer Crushed it with 22 training sessions at Reign! (and it definitely shows. Big shout out to you Elmer!)

6 Reasons Why You Should Be Drinking More Water | Coach Megan

We are always told to drink more water right (especially with this week’s nutrition challenge)?

Well here are some facts about WHY we should be drinking water!!

  1. If you often feel tired, there is a high chance you aren’t getting enough water. Want to try to wake up? Drink a glass of water and see how you feel!

  2. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea, while made up almost entirely of water, also contain caffeine. Caffeine can act as a mild diuretic, preventing water from traveling to necessary locations in the body.

  3. Headaches and migraines are often caused by dehydration. Drink plenty of water when this happens and see if it goes away without the use of meds.

  4. Water is one of the best detoxifiers because it helps flush out toxins from your body and gets rid of waste through sweat and urine. So drink lots of water, go to the bathroom a lot (yay for getting more steps in a day), and work out to get that good sweat going!

  5. Water improves functionality of the gastrointestinal tract and helps prevent constipation!

  6. But here is the best one yet… Water aids in WEIGHT LOSS!!! In clinical trials, it was found that drinking two eight ounce glasses of water prior to meals can help suppress appetite and help you feel more full!
