Being A FIT D.A.D | Coach Willie

I was super active as a kid, I competed in sports from grade school through college. Life after college I was active, pick up basketball, flag football, to coaching sports (before my own kids).

Then boom, life goes on and you barely notice waist line getting bigger, walking slower, out of breath, now you have kids, a job that requires your attention and…

“Still thinking I was the size 34 I was in college and uhhhh sir no try “40 plus” WHAT THE ****.”

I’m not that big am I?

Well, yes you are?

Social media (the ultimate fact checker) takes you down memory lane with #ThrowbackThursdays and #FlashBackFridays.

Life moves fast and your weight grows along with it.

Some men take for granted the small things like being able to walk, breathe without complication, and being physically able to move well. Our inner self thinks we can do it all and take on the world (don’t get me wrong I will always think that way).

“When we were young men we were fearless, we could do anything, eat or drink anything without consequence.”

The state of Men’s Health is telling a different story. Men’s life expectancy is 5 or more years less than women. The leading causes of death are: Stress, Heart Disease, Cancer, Accidents, Suicide, and Diabetes.

All of which can slowly catch up with us if we do not take care of ourselves.

Men we have the opportunity to change the narrative of our lives and most important we are needed. We assume several roles as Fathers, God Fathers, Uncles, Brothers, Mentors, and roles model; on top of our daily jobs/careers in the end It starts with you.

Here are the following keys to being a Fit D.A.D.

You must decide how you’re going to live the rest of your life. I made the conscious decision that I wanted to be around for my family. No matter what the obstacle I was going to live for my purpose.

The decision starts and ends with you.

Find your activity whether it’s running, swimming, basketball, or hiking, be active! For me being active is weightlifting and High Intensity Training. I feel better about myself, I feel more energetic, focused, and alive.

It’s no thing to run around with my 3 boys because I can match their energy level.

Once I decided to live a healthy lifestyle for the sake of my health, family, and community.  It was time to put my feet to the ground and keep going.

It’s not only the physical aspect but it is the mental commitment that goes beyond everything else.

Take care of yourself so you you can care for others.

Being a FIT Determined Active Devoted (DAD) is a beautiful thing, you will be able to be there for your family but also available to others.

What you do now impacts you and others around you.

Be a D.A.D. and you’ll be amazed at what you have accomplished.

– Coach Willie

Reign Fitness Teams Compete At Femme Royale Women’s Competition

On Saturday, September 9th, 2017,

Reign Fitness had seven, two women teams, compete at the Femme Royale Women’s Fitness Competition in Bellevue, WA.

This event featured 3 different style workouts and offered each team both…

Movements they enjoyed and didn’t have to worry too much about along with movements that were a little intimidating and pushed them to train more leading up to the event.

Not only was Femme Royale a great event for the Reign Women to showcase all the hard work they’ve put in but it was also a great opportunity for them to join a competition that celebrated powerful women.

Femme Royale Mission Statement:

“Femme Royale is an expression, way of life for the women of our generation. Striving to live a stronger more passionate life. Not accepting defeat. Owning who they are and what they want to become. Powerful women who want to change the world.”

This entire experience has truly been amazing and thanks to this fierce group of women trailblazing the way for our community…

“Reign can really be proud of a growing competition group and the women in our Reign Family that are redefining what it means to be a strong and powerful woman!”

We are all so proud of you Ladies!

Lastly, we have to acknowledge the amazing Reign Fam that came out to support all of the teams competing that day. It was awesome to look around and see our community come in big numbers to cheer on and encourage our ladies.

Big Congrats to Jessica & Victoria for placing third in their category!

5 Workouts For The Road Warrior | Reign Traveler Training Series

With so many of our Reign Fam traveling and constantly on the road…

The Reign Traveler Training Series has been getting a lot of attention and requests for more workouts. Not only are we happy that our Reign Road warriors are prioritizing their fitness even while traveling, they are providing so much inspiration to our entire community.

“It’s important to remember that we prioritize and work hard for that 1 hour in the gym so that the other 23 hours of the day, wherever we are can be even better.”

Here are 5 workouts for all you road warriors out there.

Don’t forget to tag Reign Fitness on social media or use the hashtags #reignfitness #reignfitfam so that we can see you doing the workouts can give you props!

“I love Burpees”

Directions: Complete all the exercises in the order listed for the number of reps for time. Keep intensity high but not at the cost of form.

Coach’s Tip: Work hard to find a rhythm with your Burpees where you are breathing out at the same point in the movement and you keep a nice pace (without breaking) through the full 35 burpees.

35 Burpees

50 Squats

50 Situps

35 Burpees

Directions: Complete a .25 mile run either on a treadmill or outside followed by 50 bodyweight squats for 4 rounds for time.

Coach’s Tip: Work to finish the bodyweight squats unbroken for an extra challenge which means using the quarter mile run as a recovery period.

Complete 4 rounds for time.

.25 mile Run

50 Squats

“Thrusters to the Rescue”

Directions: Complete three rounds of a 1/2 mile run, which can be done either on a treadmill or outside.

Coach’s Tip: Maintain a pace that you know won’t set you back or push you over the redline limit so that you can finish the work. As you get into round 2 and 3 start to increase your pace going by feel but if you’re up for a challenge find a way to go unbroken on your thrusters – this may influence the run a bit. If you can’t go unbroken then game plan ahead of time how many reps you want to hit and how you want to split up each set.

3 rounds for time

1/2 mile Run (.5 on treadmill or outside)

20 DB Thrusters (30lbs/20lbs)

“Hang 10”

Directions: In 10 minutes – Complete as many rounds and reps as possible of the exercises for the set number of reps and in the order listed.

Coach’s Tip: Focus on quality form with the hang clean and jerk making sure to complete one movement before worrying about the next. Breathing will be key during this workout so know when to breathe out.

AMRAP 10 Minutes

7 Dumbbell Hang Clean & Jerks (40lbs/30lbs)

10 Burpees

“Easy Mile”

Directions: Complete 4 rounds of the following exercises for the set number of reps or distance in the order listed.

Coach’s Tip: Utilize the run as a recovery time from the other exercises and as you get into the later rounds start picking up the pace depending on feel. This workout will require a little game planning based on your fit levels so take a few minutes before to review and make an attack strategy.

4 Rounds For Time

.25 mile run

15 DB Hang Cleans (35lbs/25lbs)

10 Situps

7 Burpees

7 Tips To Make Yourself More Coachable | Get More Out Of Every Workout

As Coaches, we are extremely passionate about giving our members as much information, knowledge, and attention as possible. However, there are many things on both the coach and athletes sides that can hinder this communication like time constraints, distractions, LIFE, etc…

But there are things that you can do to help elevate your athlete – coach experience every time you’re in the gym.

Here are 7 tips to help you get the most out of the coaching we are trying to provide…

Tip 1 | Show Up Early

Not only will showing up give you time to foam roll and mobilize (beyond the movement prep and warm-up in class)…

It will also give you the opportunity to:

✅ Checkout the workout.

✅ Watch the previous class finish.

✅ See some different scaling options.

✅ See target times and goals for the workout.

✅ Take time to transition into a headspace that allows you to focus on yourself and get into the right mindset to train.

Tip 2 | Communicate With Your Coach

Coaches are here to help and most importantly listen.

If you have anything going on… injury, nervousness, or maybe your just unsure about something – before class is a great time to talk to your coach.

Whatever it is, we’re here to listen and help!

Tip 3 | Sit In The Front Of The Class

When we start briefing the workout get in tight!

Ignore people’s personal space for a few minutes and get up close so you can hear all the points of performance for different exercises, workout strategy (how to attack the workout), and everything the coach is trying to tell you about the workout.

Tip 4 | Slow and Focused

Getting to the next progression is always on athlete’s minds but it’s important to take things slow and not rush the process.

Our goal for each workout regardless of the class and program is quality not quantity especially when it comes to learning a movement.

Don’t Rush.

Slow things down so that you can focus on the cues Coaches are giving you and work on the small details.

Small details and points of performance accumulate over time and help you maintain awesome movement mechanics as you progress in the future.

Tip 5 | Get Some Eyes On You

It’s important, especially with more complex lifts and exercises, to get a coach to watch you.

It doesn’t have to be for a full set or every rep but you should have a coach watch a few good reps and regardless of what level your at, make sure to have at least one takeaway note or cue.

Wait for a coach and ask for attention – I know they’ll be more than happy to help!

Tip 6 | Take Note Of Your Cues

Different cues work for different athletes.

“Chest up!” might help one individual but may not click with you and because Coaches are always striving to find what works for different people…

You’ll most likely experience a wide variety of verbal and tactical cues during class.

And when one clicks…

Write it down so you don’t forget it. (I just pull out my phone real quick, open up my notes app and write what the cue was, what exercise or drill it helped me with, and what it helped me do)

Keep a compiled list of things that are helping you.

Tip 7 | Stay After Class

After class is the best time to grab a coach and pick their brains!

Let them go into more detail and share additional tips or even explain why they gave you certain “cues” in class.

This is also a great time to spend working on a weakness or movement that you’ve been wanting to get better (pull-ups, double-unders, box jumps).  It’s often the accumulation of these small “after class” or even “before” training times that help you breakthrough.

Note: As a coach I’ll often prescribe a before or after class drill/homework to my athletes to help them get closer to progressing a movement. Talk to your coach after class!

These are just a handful of tips to help you get the most out of the athlete coach experience and it’s important to remember that communication is at the heart of this relationship.

And as coaches, we understand that there are lot more factors that go into fitness and training including your emotional, physical, and mental state but please remember that we are here for you.

Reign Strong!

– Albert Park

One thing I always like to preach to coaches and my personal training clients is to always have a “White Belt” Mentality when someone is coaching you.

It means, to be attentive like if you were beginner and never act like you know everything because real experienced athletes and coaches know…

“That you can always find something new to takeaway or see something from a different perspective even if you’ve heard it 100 hundred times or think you know it the best.”

Work hard and always be humble.

Sweat With Or Without Equipment | 3 Workouts For The Traveler

It’s no secret that training while traveling can be challenging – especially when you don’t have a plan. (or even a backup plan)

Which is why one strategy I always suggest to our Reign Fam before they hit the road is to have a few pre-written workouts always ready to go so you can make the best of any situation.

And in the today’s post I’m going to give you one workout you can do with no equipment, one you can do with little to no equipment, and one with equipment to help better prepare you for any situation that you might face.

Whether you only have the outdoors, you find a gym with minimal equipment, or you get an opportunity to visit a fully equipped gym…

You’ll have a workout that will adapt to your environment but also challenge you to work hard.

The key with all of these workouts will be intensity.

“The more energy and focus you bring to each workout – the more you’re going to get out of it!”

“4 Hundo”

Directions: Complete the exercises for the set number of reps or distance and in the order listed for time.

*No Equipment

**You can also do this on a treadmill.

 Run 400m (.25 miles)

50 squats

Run 400m

40 Pushups

Run 400m

30 AlternatingLunges (15 each leg)

Run 400m

20 Burpees

Run 400m

100 Mountain Climbers (L/R = 1 rep)

“Sweet 16”

FullSizeRender 15

EMOM x 16 minutes

Directions: Perform the set number of reps for the exercise at the top of the minute. Use the rest of the minute to rest and recover. At the top of the next minute start the next exercise – complete the set number of reps and then use the rest of the minute to rest and recover. Cycle through the 4 exercises for 4 rounds for a total of 16 minutes.

*Little to No Equipment

Min 1 DB Thrusters x 12-15 reps

Min 2 Burpees x 10-15 reps

Min 3 DB Renegade Rows x 10 reps

Min 4 Situps x 20-25 reps

**Add a Pushup To your renegade rows to add more difficulty.

“Strong Like Ox”

Complete the exercises for the set number of reps in the order listed and complete the countdown. You will complete 10 reps of all the exercises in the order listed, then 9 reps of all the exercises in the order listed, then 8…. etc. until you get to 1.

Complete for time but never sacrifice position and form. Remember our rule… Position over transition.

DB or BB Bench Press (Heavy)

Kettlebell or Dumbbell Goblet Squats (Heavy)

*Not feeling like upper body – Switch out the DB/BB Bench Press and add in some deadlifts. Don’t want to squat when you switch it over the Bench Press, no worries – switch it up for BB Deadlifts.

**The weight that you choose should be a weight that you can complete the 10 reps with at about 80-85%.

Breaking News: Reign Fitness Announces New Facility Early 2018 | Renton Highlands

We want to start off by saying Thank You!

Thank you to The Reign Family, friends, and everyone who has supported the growth of our community from it’s early and humble beginnings.

Thank You.

In early 2014, after outgrowing the small leased corner space in another gym, we spent the summer operating out of a 1 car garage unit training a handful of amazing clients wondering what the next step would be for a very young Reign Fitness.

After a hectic summer, we decided and committed to growing the Reign Community and signed a lease for the first Reign Fitness facility in the Renton Highlands.

In September 2014, we opened the doors to Reign Fitness & Performance and even though we didn’t have a lot on the walls, fancy equipment, or even members – we did have a place to call home (for about all 20 of us at the time).

Flash forward a couple years (after a lot of hard work, sweat, and tears)…

We’ve added more equipment, definitely put up more stuff on the walls, but more importantly – added a lot more amazing like minded people to join our Reign Family. It’s grown from a small group of personal training clients into a full thriving community that not only supports each other in the gym but unconditionally supports each other in life.

And as our community continues to grow well past 100+ Reign Fam Strong, we needed to start looking ahead to the future.

We knew that this year was going to be the right time to start making a transition into a bigger facility and start a new chapter in our book.

“We are excited to announce that Reign Fitness & Performance will be moving into a New and Bigger Facility in early 2018!”

And before you ask where it is, let me beat you to it and say…

“We will announce this as soon as we start construction in Fall 2017 but for now, we can say that Reign Fitness will keep it’s home in the Renton Highlands.”

(The best part is that it’s actually within a mile or two of our current location)

What Can You Look Forward To At The New Reign Fitness Facility?

Reign Window

✅ Consistent High Quality Service

Our number one priority has been and will always be to provide the highest quality service and best experience that we can.

We are passionate about helping people improve the quality of their lives through health & fitness and it’s what we’ve dedicated our lives to!

Not only do we want to be amazing coaches, we also want to exceed your expectations as a business including everything from the process of buying a bottle of water to the cleanliness and upkeep of our facility. (You know we like to keep things fresh and so clean clean!)

✅ More Class Times

As our community grows, we are excited to announce that we will be adding more class times and opportunities to train!

We will announce more details as we get closer to the opening date (Early 2018) so keep your eyes peeled on the Reign Members Only Facebook Group for polls and opportunities to give us feedback.

We look forward to hearing from all of you so that we can deliver classes at the times that “YOU” want.

✅ More Opportunities For Fitness/Nutrition/Health Education

With more space and equipment, we are planning to offer more workshops and classes (like our Mobility Workshops and Reign Barbell Fundamentals Classes) for members to expand their training knowledge.

Fitness at Reign is a lot more than just attending classes…

We want you to learn, grow in your fitness journey, and continue to evolve your training.

✅ New Equipment & Bigger Space

One of the best parts about The New Reign Facility is…

We will get to enjoy More Space!

With the growth of our amazing community, we needed a larger space that would not only help the flow of the facility more efficient but also provide more sq. footage per member during classes.

The Larger space will also allow for improved member amenities, more room for equipment, and provide adequate storage space for gym supplies.

Not only will the gym be bigger, we have received access to the parking lot area for even more training space. (Stop thinking about what could be programmed out there. It’s too soon. Or is it?)

✅ Reign Fam Hospitality & Good Vibes

The Reign Facility is a place that we all share.

“It’s a place we go to for strength, to sweat, for encouragement, to learn, for unconditional support, to relieve stress, and to see friends & family.

The gym is like a second home and we create real memories there.”

Wherever we go, wherever it is – we want you to always feel like Reign is “YOUR” Gym when you walk in because it is. It is our goal to continue to provide a facility that represents this.

✅ An Upgraded Reign Experience

Along with the transition into a New Facility, we will also be revamping the Reign Nutrition Coaching Program, building a Reign Fitness mobile APP to provide a better communication platform for our member base, and focusing on creating a facility that delivers a great overall experience.

Yes, this will take time…

But it’s going to be worth it and we can’t wait to share it with all of you, The Reign Family!

The Vision

Our mission statement hasn’t changed since the very first session with our very first clients and it continues to shape the business, direct the Reign Fitness Team, and guide our community.

Mission Statement: Improve the quality of people’s lives through fitness, nutrition, and community.

And as we transition into The New Reign Fitness Facility,  we will continue to use this Mission Statement to navigate and structure the future for Reign.

“We want to continue to build and nurture a community that’s excited to live an active and fit lifestyle through…”

✅ High level coaching.

✅ High Energy classes that provide opportunities to work hard and stay goal oriented but also offer opportunities to learn and evolve your training.

✅ More involvement in our community and the Renton Highland Neighborhoods that we belong too. (Schools, organizations, businesses, youth groups, and sports leagues.)

✅ Reign Fitness Events that bring our community together outside of the gym. You know we love our events.

✅ Hosting Workshops, seminars, and providing more opportunities for Reign Fam Members to invest in themselves.

✅ Delivering Challenges, Team Events, and Programs that offer our community motivation, excitement, and opportunities to build real life relationships.

Reign Member Q & A

Our first priority is and has always been the Reign Family and we want to take the time to answer some questions that you might have below…

What will happen to my membership and pricing?

Your membership and costs are grandfathered in and we have always and will continue to honor that as long as you keep the same membership. If you do decide to make any changes to your membership before we move, it will reflect current pricing. If it is done after we move, it will reflect new pricing.

Membership Pricing

We are in the process of transitioning into a new pricing structure for different memberships and you will all be the first to know when that change is made but again, as long as you have an active membership with us now – your pricing will not change.

Will My Personal Training Sessions or Times Change?

Personal Training Semi-Private Sessions and times will not change unless you are notified by your specific coach.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to them ahead of time.

Will the gym schedule change?

Currently, we do not have any plans to make changes to the current gym/training schedule. However, we do have plans to add classes and programs as we are always seeking different ways to add more value.

We will release more details on new classes, class times, and specials when we get closer to our opening date (Early 2018)

Will Reign Fitness close?

reign new facility

Our goal is to not miss any training days and although we don’t expect everything to go 100% according to plan (something usually always comes up)…

What we can do is promise you all that we will do our very best to make the transition over to our NEW HOME as smooth as possible.

Where Will The New Reign Fitness Facility Be Located?

Again, we will announce the address once we have started construction in Fall 2017 but I can assure you that staying in the Renton Highlands area was a very big priority to us.

One of the reasons why we chose this new location was specifically because of it’s close proximity to our current space. (1-2 miles)

And as soon as we start construction, we will release the location of our new space.

How Can You Help?

Moving is always a big undertaking and we may need your help, so please keep your eyes on the Reign Members Only Facebook Page for opportunities to help with the facility transition.

Keep doing what you’ve been doing.

✅ Keep Working Hard in classes and investing in yourselves because when we do that, we better everything and everyone around us.

✅ Never stop encouraging and motivating others in their fitness journey. One thing we’ve noticed about all of our members is that as soon as you come to Reign, you become an ambassador for health and fitness among your own networks and we absolutely LOVE THAT!

✅ Share your story with friends, family, the world because you never know who you’re inspiring or helping take that first step. (think about who helped you take that first step with Reign)
Again, we want to say thank you to the Reign Family for all your support and we can’t wait to deliver an amazing new facility for all of us to enjoy!

*Keep your eyes peeled on social media as we will be keeping everyone up to date on what’s going on!

Reign “Limitless” 30 Day Fitness Challenge | Starts September 11th, 2017

It’s no secret that we host a “Back to School” Challenge annually and every year we get asked the same question…

“Another Challenge, Why?”

And the answer is simple.

“Giving something a Start Date and Deadline can directly influence intensity levels, it can help you focus on the specific task at hand, and lastly – it can help spark a surge of effort/energy that we often times need in order to achieve a goal and disrupt our daily routine of things.”

Is this challenge for everyone?

As a matter of fact, if you’re in the middle of/following a specific program right now, working with a coach on specific goals, or even in a place in life (mentally or physically) that won’t allow you to spend extra energy on your fitness journey…

This challenge is probably not right for you.

(If you’re working with a coach and unsure… Please talk to your coach)

This Challenge is going to push you outside of your comfort zone, require energy & attention to detail, and really keep you accountable.

You know…

All the things you really want and need from a challenge in order to be successful!

Let’s get into it!

What is The Reign “Limitless” 30 Day Challenge All About?

We’ve designed the Reign “Limitless” 30 day Challenge as a way to help you focus on your fitness process and really give it the surge of energy & effort necessary to jump start results in a short period of time.

What you can accomplish is “Limitless” and depends on your level of commitment but there is one thing that all Successful Challengers share and that is…

“All successful challengers “BUY-IN” to the Challenge all the way, meaning – they do all the challenges, work hard to trust the process, and always give it their best effort. There’s no second guessing, complaining, or negative self-talk.

They go “All in” with a positive attitude, stay coachable, and the X-Factor… They start to encourage others along the way!”

And one of the best aspects about all Reign Challenges…

You Are Not Alone!

You will not only be surrounded with Reign Fam and coaches every time you’re at the gym… You’ll also have an online community of other like minded challengers online – ready to encourage, motivate, and support!

Goals Of The “Limitless” Challenge

✅ Help you develop healthy lifestyle habits that will stick with you long term and help you towards fitness goals.

✅ Make your training, working out, and fitness FUN!

✅ Strengthen our community by building more relationships with like minded individuals.

✅ Push you outside of your comfort zones and challenge growth.

✅ Give you a boost of motivation and energy as we transition for that “Back To School” Time of the year.

✅ Help you breakthrough plateaus.

✅ Teach and educate you on strategies and healthy lifestyle habits that can help you with your fitness process.

✅ Reveal what you’re capable of when you Decide, Commit, and Succeed.

So, is this challenge for you?

This Challenge is for you if…

✅ You backed off the intensity in your training over the summer and want to pick things back up heading into the “Back To School” season.

✅ You’re looking to take your training to the next level. (Lose even more weight, start toning, or even really looking to build lean muscle and drop body fat)

✅ Motivation has been low and you need a swift kick in the rear to get back into your health and fitness grind.

✅ You are looking for a challenge to help evolve your training, self-discipline, and nutrition.

✅ You’re looking for accountability. (Let’s be honest, we all need more accountability)

✅ You want to develop new skills in training and nutrition to help you in your fitness journey.

✅ You need to start working out but don’t know where to start and you don’t want to do it on your own.

Okay, let’s start looking at each of the different sections that make up this challenge!

The Nutrition

The main Nutrition goal for the 30 Day “Limitless” Fitness Challenge is to help you pay more attention to what you’re eating and putting into your body. By paying more attention, we hope to build new skills/strategies and reinforce…

✅ Making better nutrient dense food choices.

✅  Minimizing the intake of processed and packaged foods (which can eliminate a ton of excess calories)

✅ Less nutrient deficiencies in your body so that it can operate at it’s full potential. (Especially when it comes to burning fat and building lean muscles)

✅ Eating to fuel movement and recovery.

We won’t be asking you to follow a specific protocol or choose a “Diet” Camp to side with (Paleo, Whole 30, Vegan, Ketogenic Diet, HFLC, Plant Based Diet) because we 100% understand that different protocols work for different people. We want you to stick with what works for you!

However, we will be giving you Reign Nutrition Coaching Best Practice Resources that can help you strategize things like portion control, creating meals and meal prep, and other skills to get the most of this challenge.

The Weekly Nutrition Challenges will be designed and focused on helping you build and reinforce these skills/strategies that can be applied to any balanced diet.

These Skills/strategies will help build a strong foundation in Nutrition and help you create a system that works for you and any specific goals.

What If I Need More Help With Food and What To Eat?

If you’re unsure of what to follow and may be new to Nutrition, we do recommend following a Paleo Protocol for the 30 days because of the fact that it does promote eating real nutrient dense foods and has big emphasis on eliminating the crap (processed foods) that your body may have a negative response to.

You know…

Things like sugar, processed foods, certain grains, and dairy.

Why Eliminate?

The 2 main factors why we like the eliminating aspect in the Paleo Protocol…

  • Removing things like sugar and processed foods in your diet can quickly help eliminate a lot of excess calories. Getting rid of unnecessary calories in your diet can help you lose weight quickly and get back on track with paying attention to what goes in your body.
  • Removing certain types of foods like grains and dairy can be a little controversial as they should not be perceived as “bad food” however, many of us (myself included) can have a negative response to these types of food such as inflammation, bloating, and digestive issues. By eliminating them for a set period of time, it can help bring these negative responses to light and can also help reset your body.

The Paleo Nutrition Protocol is still by far the most successful system we have used in a challenge setting.

Familiarize yourself with the Paleo Nutrition Protocol before the challenge here.

We will be providing resources for you if you want to follow the Paleo Protocol. If you’re unsure whether or not this right for you – please talk with one of our Reign Coaches so that they can game plan with you and offer you more insight.

The Fitness

The Fitness section of The 30 Day “Limitless” Challenge will include weekly physical challenges (that you will be able to perform almost anywhere with no equipment) and regular class attendance. If you’re a distance coaching client, please contact your coach and they will give you further instructions on how to manage gym attendance.

For this Challenge, we will have 2 Fitness levels for each challenge and it will be up to you to decide which one is right for you.

✅ Level 1 will be designed for general fitness goals

✅ Level 2 will be designed for individuals who are seeking to increase performance and already have a consistent training foundation.

Note: Both will be challenging and if you have any questions once the challenges are released, please talk with a Reign Coach as we are all here to help you.

How Do The Challenges Work?

  • At the beginning of each week, we will announce a Nutrition Challenge and Physical Challenge in the Private Reign “Limitless” 30 Day Challenge Facebook Group Page (which you will have access to).
  • You will need to carefully read the instructions and then submit your proof of completion, via the comment section of the post by the specific deadline.
  • All instructions, deadlines, and proof rules will be outlined in the Challenge Post.
  • NOTE: For the Physical Challenges, it will be up to you to read both Levels carefully and then decide on which one you will perform. Then be sure to identify which level you finished.

Most Proofs will require you to post a photo, time of completion, or selfie to the comment section. We recommend using a FREE Pic Collage APP like PicCollage! If you’re unfamiliar with posting and taking pictures – Reign Coaches are available and more than happy to help. Do not let this discourage you!

4 Life Hacks I Use For Recovery | Coach Megan

In the world we live in today, we are constantly moving, checking off things on our “To Do” list and trying to fit our workouts in your busy life.

What most of us put on the back burner are the other things not listed in your everyday “To Do” list that help you recover. Here are 4 simple life hacks/tricks I use for recovery that make life just a little easier to squeeze in!

Life Hack #1

One of the best things you can do to help your body recover… SLEEP! Sleep is essential to recovery and weight loss! Your body repairs itself when you are sleeping.

Things to consider to help you fall asleep faster: when to stop your intake of caffeine and don’t use anything with blue light (e.g. cell phones, tablets, etc.) that prevent your brain from relaxing.

Life Hack #2

Lower back pain got you down? Don’t have a foam roller or lacrosse ball handy? You can use almost anything to help get deep down into your muscles that are tight and causing pain.

Some of my go to’s are a baseball bat and balls (tennis ball, baseball, softball, etc) that are easily accessible (especially with a baseball coach boyfriend!). Rolling on either one won’t be as soft as the tools that are available at the gym, but they will get deep down in there to help relieve some of the tension!

Life Hack #3

RICE! I know a lot of you have heard of the acronym RICE, but I am going to talk more about the grain version. Not only is it delicious and most people have it at home already, but it can be easily used to make a heating pad for those sore muscles!

Just use an old long sock, fill it with rice, tie the end and microwave. Quick and easy way to get some heat to those sore muscles!

Life Hack #4

Stretching is essential to loosen up the body and something that we all emphasize in class. This can also be easily forgotten. Something I have recently started doing was at night, while I am winding down from my day and watching TV, I stretch (same ones as what we do in class warm up) during the commercials.

I hold each stretch for the duration of one commercial, then switch when it is done. At the end of an hour show, you get in 15 minutes of stretching!
