At Reign Fitness, we are dedicated to continually striving for excellence and finding leaders to join our team to help make an impact in our gym community.
One program we continually lean on to raise amazing Reign Leaders is our Internship program. It combines the opportunity to build trust and lasting relationships with members along with the necessary experience to Coach/Manage groups at a high level.
We're excited to introduce you to Taylor, an evening Barbell crew member who has been drawn to helping others around her since day one!
As an intern, you'll see Taylor a little more each week starting with shadowing/assisting coaching in classes, building experience where she can, and investing time into our community.
She is extremely hard working, always smiling, and always ready for a conversation whether it's about movies… sports… food… and of course training!
We can't wait for her to get started in her coaching journey. (Please make her feel welcome the next time you see her at the gym!)
In an effort to get to know Taylor better, we sent her a set of "Mini-Interview" questions, enjoy.
Here is Taylor…
Name: Taylor Woo
Age: 21
1. Tell us a little about yourself?
I am an aspiring nurse hoping to start nursing school in the fall or winter. I have worked at
Overlake Hospital for the past 2 years as a night shift nurse tech as well.
I was born and raised in the area and went to Seattle University where I was an athlete on the rowing team.
I love being active and spending time with my friends and family.
2. What made you want to coach, lead, and be a part of the Reign Community?
It wasn’t that long ago that I started this fitness journey at Reign.
I remember how nervous I was to start, but all the coaches helped me feel confident and assured me that everyone starts somewhere! I was inspired by their “talk the talk and walk the walk” attitude, and it made me want to do the same.
I want to be able to impact people the same way they have impacted me!
3. Favorite cheat meal?
Pizza and/or ice cream.
Or donuts.
Or chocolate and wine.
4. What kind of impact do you hope to make here at Reign?
I hope to make everyone feel welcome and make Reign feel like home!
I have made huge strides in my fitness and health since starting here (including a 20lb weight loss!) and hope to help people do the same. I am also a positive and encouraging person that people can come to if they’re ever feeling discouraged or need an extra push.
We’ve all been there!
Also if anyone has questions about the rowing machines, I’d love to hear them! :)
5. What are your goals or aspirations for 2019/2020?
In August, I have the Renton Crossfit Games comp that I’m doing with Mi Cho, RX!!!
So a big goal for this year would be to get down bar/ring muscle ups.
I would love to see my lifts all go up in the next coming year.

6. First CD you bought & Favorite Movie of all time...
The first CD I bought was JoJo’s first album.
Favorite movie of all time??
Loaded question. At the moment, I’ve been watching a lot of Smokey and the Bandit with my dad. It’s a classic!
Indiana Jones is also a go-to movie series for me.
7. What are your hobbies outside of the Fitness?
I like reading, going to concerts, paddle boarding, and going on hikes!
I’ve been wanting to try an overnight backpacking trip so if any of you have tips for a beginner, let me know!
8. What's your spirit animal?
I would say a lion because sometimes when I wake up, my hair looks like an actual lions mane haha! They’re also ferocious and strong!
9. Life words of wisdom or favorite quote? How has it influenced your life?
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” -Maya Angelou
This has been a quote I have lived by for years.
I love this quote because it reminds me that while I am not always in control of what happens to me, I am always in control of how I react to it.
And that reaction can change an entire situation!
10. What advice would you give to anyone looking to start their fitness journey?
Easier said than done, but don’t be intimidated by the people you see in the gym, or anyone else’s progress. We all are unique and have different starting points.
If you work hard, are consistent, and have a good attitude, you will see a change!
11. One interesting fact about yourself?
I do the puzzles in the paper everyday!
12. Share one training or nutrition strategy that needs to be in everyone's toolbox.
Be consistent!
Whether it’s hitting the gym 3-5 times a week or always making sure you’re drinking enough water, consistency = progress!
13. Who do you look up to and why?
I look up to my mom so much.
She is the strongest woman I know and constantly leads
by example.
She’s also an amazing cook.
If I can become half the woman she is, that would be a big win.
14. Favorite memory in the last 5 years?
When I went swimming with sharks in Hawaii with my sister!
15. Favorite exercise? Why?
SNATCHES!!!
They’re so complex and you always have something to work on. I love
chasing that one lift out of 100 that feels effortless.
16. What are you most excited about joining the Reign Team and Reign Fitness Community?
I’m excited to get to know more of the members at Reign! I am a regular at 5pm barbell, so I
am really looking forward to connecting with and learning how to motivate everyone!
