We are so excited to introduce you to (in the case that you don’t know her already) Erika O. who will be starting her Reign Coaching Internship process this month with us.
She’s been an amazing member for the last couple years and has really seen a lot of transformation in her own fitness journey.
Through her journey she’s found a passion for fitness and helping others with their own journey.
For the next couple months, you’ll be seeing her assisting in classes, leading warm-ups, and spend a lot of time learning while getting to know the Reign Fam even better.
But we wanted to get to know her a little better so, Here is Erika…
Name: Erika Otsu
Occupation: Executive Administrator for a CPA Firm
1. What (who) brought you to Reign?
Daisy introduced me to Reign after I had recovered from hernia surgery and was feeling unhappy with how I felt about myself and my body from having a 9+lb baby.
“It was the best decision I made for myself personally!”
2. What is the most significant change – whether social, physical, mental…you have experienced since you have been here? (As a Member first, then as a coach)
As a member, I have become physically and mentally stronger than I ever thought possible. I am who I wanted to be years ago and am thankful I have made the commitment to continue this journey!
As a coach, I hope to motivate others who may be hesitant in making this first big step of making a change in their lives.
3. Tell us a little about yourself. What’s a Day In The Life of Erika?
I was born in NY, but grew up in Florida until my freshman year in high school, then moved to North Carolina and then to Washington.
In that time frame I attended 4 different high schools.
It was tough, and I never used to like change, but now I embrace it and love trying new things all the time!
A day in my life:
I wake up around 5:15am each weekday and sometimes fix my hair, then I head to the gym.
Afterwards, I head to work in Bellevue where I’m sitting for most of the day at my computer. When I head home to my kiddos (2 boys ages 9 and 4) my husband then heads to work.
Sometimes I will attend evening classes and bring my kiddos along. Otherwise, I may or may not be taking accounting classes online. I try my hardest to be in bed around 9pm each night, but sometimes it’s just not possible!
4. Why do you want to be apart of the Reign Team?
From the moment I walked in the door for my first class, the coaches and members were so welcoming and have played a major role in my personal self improvement.
I, in turn would like to pay it forward and help others feel the same way.
Let’s make some goals together!
5. Share your favorite memory so far at Reign.
There are soooo many, but one of my personal favorites is the day I could do an unassisted strict pull-up.
That took A YEAR to achieve, but proved great things come to those who stay consistent with time.
6. First CD you bought & Favorite Movie of all time…
I’m pretty sure it was Coolio- Gangsta’s Paradise I love the movie, The Holiday
7. What are your hobbies/activities outside of Reign?
I love, love, love sleeping, but when I’ve got free time I spend it with my family.
My 2 kiddos definitely keep me thoroughly entertained (or give me headaches) wherever or whatever we are doing!
8. What are your goals and/or aspirations as a Reign Fitness Coach?
I hope to instill some inspiration for those who don’t know where or how to begin in this journey of fitness.
“If I can lend a helping hand, a hug or a listening ear to help you get where you want to be then that will be an amazing sense of accomplishment that I will cherish!”
9. You’re sent on a deserted island… what 3 things will you bring with you and why?
A knife, for making shelter and getting food.
Flint to make a fire and a bathing suit to soak up the sun while I’m on the island!
10. If you were a SuperHero, which one matches best with your personality? Why?
Violet from the movie The Incredibles.
When she finally broke out of her shell, she realized her true strength and power from within.
11. What is your favorite workout and if you could make up a workout what would it be?
I really enjoy EMOM’s because it gives me several opportunities to practice a movement. If I were to create a workout, it would involve some of my favorites: Pull-ups, Power Cleans, and Burpees
12. What advice would you give to anyone looking to start their fitness journey?
You have to start to get to where you want to be.
From there it’s about consistency.
If you can keep going, then you will be able to achieve those items on your bucket list!
13. Tell us one future goal for yourself and why.
Never stop learning. I realized that consistently having something to work towards, keeps me on my toes and fuels myself for self improvement.
I want to become a better person everyday.

I Wish…to live on a tropical island
