In an effort to highlight and bring more awareness to Men’s Health for Movember, we will be introducing our new Member Spotlight Segment which will feature a different Reign Fam Member each month…

…to help us get to know the individuals that make up our community better.

But this month…

We will be featuring a different guy each week for the month.

These Reign Men were chosen because they exemplify what it means to live a fit and active lifestyle in order to improve their overall quality of life.

If you haven’t checked out what Reign Fitness is doing for Movember take a quick second to read through the post below…

Stop Men Dying Too Young | Reign Men Called To Step Up | Movember 2017

Now onto the Member Spotlight and David Jang “DJ” who is not only been a Veteran Member through 2 or 3 moves but he’s definitely one of my best friends in this world!

He’s always got your back no matter one and is constantly supporting others through their health & fitness journey.

Name: David Jang

Age: 35

Occupation: Sr. Sales Executive

What (who) brought you to Reign?

I’ve been training with Albert for about 8 years now.

I was at a fundraising/charity event where me and a few friends bid on a silent auction to train with him for a month.

This was about 6 gym locations ago (if we count the new one).  I’ve always loved sports but I only trained beach muscles in high school.  I remember I ate clam chowder before the workout and I puked at the end.

It was awesome!

So, Albert brought me to Reign, and so did Clam Chowder.

What is the most significant change – whether social, physical, mental… you have experienced since you have been here?

I am a big fella.

I used to weigh 263 lbs

I’ve been as lean as 195/200lbs at Reign, but then I had a horrible injury which screwed me up pretty bad. The injury led to very bad mobility where i couldn’t even tie my shoes, let alone deadlift from the floor or squat.

I’ve regained average mobility which has allowed to gain some strength back, and now the next step is lean out!  I guess the point is, no matter what comes your way, training hard will always be a lifestyle for me. that’s the biggest change!

Share your favorite memory so far at Reign.

There are a ton. 12 days of Christmas workouts, birthday workouts, Ki telling me to do man-makers all the time. The great 2016 christmas party.

I think my favorite memories are just connecting with the homies. Albert is my guy!

What are your goals or aspirations leading into the New Year?

Get Lean. I’m a bit too heavy right now but Albert got me eating out here.

What would the title of your autobiography be? Why?

Love is Commitment.  that’s kind of my life message and one that i have learned in my 20s.  Love isn’t a disney movie, it’s commitment to the end.

After a tough workout, what’s your favorite meal?

STEAK AND WHITE RICE.  and maybe WHISKEY but that’s not good for my goals.

What are your hobbies outside of Reign?

I love spending time with my family, hooping like Rasheed Wallace, I have an unhealthy love for shoes/fashion.

I also love to eat good food, sports and have a good time.

I also enjoy hearing a great preacher.

If you could be in any movie of your choice, what movie would you choose and what character would you play? Why?

Man, this is a great question! hmm…Probably, Braveheart.

“It is my favorite movie of all time. I would play William Wallace.  He inspires me like crazy in that movie. His passion and life was marked by sacrifice.  WOO!!!!!!”

Plus, he has awesome face paint on and kind of looked like an old-school WWF Ultimate Warrior.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to start their fitness journey?

Just. Get. Started.

Don’t think about it, just do it and you will be glad you did. The more you play mental gymnastics, the more excuses you will have. Tell you brain to shut up and get in the gym.

BONUS Question: You get to take 3 things to a deserted island. Food and water included. What do you take?

I take a Bible, a Sword, and a damn airplane to get me off the island.

Fill In The Blank…

I Wish…i could be a better father and husband.

I Eat…big.
