Saturday, Feb 13th 2016 was our second official Reign Fitness Valentine’s Day Team Throwdown and it was awesome!

We went from 6 teams of 2 last year in 2015 to 20 teams of 2 this year.

The only big change this year was that we lifted the co-ed requirement and allowed any teams of two to compete.

Each team competed in 4 events and completed them in the order listed. Each event block was 10 minutes and depending on whether the event was 7 minutes or 8 minutes long, you had either a 2 or 3 minute break.

VDAY

The events included

  1. 7 Minute Max distance Row (or 5 minute option)
  2. “N-Sync” 7 Minute Time Cap (100 Squats, 100 Pushups, 100 Situps, 100 rows, 100 Burpees)
  3. “Burpee Assault”(8 minute time cap – Bike 50 calories cash in, max burpees)
  4. Sandbag Relay (8 minute AMRAP: 40lb, 60lb, 80lb Sandbag 20 yard relay)

Each event had 2 judges and I just want to give a huge shout out to all of the Reign Coaches and members that volunteered to be judges. It’s not an easy job counting reps, handing out no-reps, and motivating members at the same time! (If you see any of the judges throughout the week, make sure to give them a high five or fist bump and say Thank You!)

It was so amazing to see all of the competitors come out to have fun, compete, and get a great workout in. Thank you to everyone who participated and for making our community, our gym, our reignfitfam what it is today.

I also want to say thank you to all the members that came out just to show support for the competitors. It really means a lot and it shows the caring community that we have. Thank you.
