This Valentine’s Day we had an absolute blast!

It started off with an amazing early morning ReignFIT class and everyone who showed up crushed the workout! We have ReignFIT classes every Saturday @9am at our gym in Renton, WA if anyone is interested just email us to get a FREE class pass. (email info@bereignfit.com)

After ReignFIT class, Co-Ed teams came out to take part in the very first ever Valentine’s Day Throwdown 2015.

Ever since I started personal training and had a desire to grow a fit community… It’s been a dream to host events like this that not only bring our Reign fitness family together but also challenge individuals in a fun way.

The theme for this year’s throwdown was all about teamwork.

How well can you work with another partner to strategize, motivate each other, and overcome challenges. The strategizing aspect was brand new for us as we announced the events 1 day early to allow teams to devise a plan. I think they all enjoyed it.

Thank you to all of the teams that came out to Reign Fitness & Performance today and participated in the Throwdown event. We truly hope all of you had fun!

The Events

Event 1 “Love Boat” 
3000m Row For Time
– Each co-ed team will complete a 3000m row for time.
– It is up to each team to decide on how they want to split up the distance.
– The only rule is each team member must row 1500m.
– The team with the fastest 3000m time will win this event.

Event 2 “Love “Speed” Boat” 
500m Row For Time
– This event will take place within the 3000m row event – we will time each of your first 500m.
– The team with the fastest 500m times (500m time (mens) + 500m time (women’s) = total time) will win this event.
– You will continue to finish event 1 after you complete the timed 500m

Event 3 “7 Minutes In Heaven” 
Hand Release Burpees For Time
– Complete as many Hand Release Burpees as a team in 7 minutes.
– Each Teammate must match their partners reps of Burpees to count.
ex. at the very end of the time limit, if one teammate completes 10 reps and the other partner only completes 7 before time runs out, the total reps counted will only be 7 reps.
– Only one partner can work at a time.

Event 4 “Carry On” 
Body Weight Squats x 50 reps
Partner Carry Down And Back / Switch x 1
Situps x 50 reps
Partner Carry Down and Back / Switch x 2 each
Hand Release Pushups x 50 reps
Partner Carry Down and Back / Switch x 3 each

Complete for time
Time Cap: 10 minutes

– Complete the series of exercises in a synchronized fashion for the set number of reps, followed by a partner carry down and back between the designated distance for time.
– Each time it calls for a Partner Carry Down and Back/Switch, it is required that each team must switch positions (carrier vs. carried) to complete the section.
– If you drop your partner, you have to complete 10 Hand Release Burpees Together on the spot
– If you do not complete the workout in time… we will count how many reps and distances you completed.

This Valentine’s day Throwdown just goes to show that Reign Fitness is a lot more than  just a gym in the Renton Highlands, we are a lot more than just personal training, and definitely about more than just fitness.

Reign Fitness is a community and truly a big family where everyone supports each other and cares for one another.
